Silk Plant in Turkmenabat Starts Processing New Cocoon Crops

Turkmenabat Silk Production Association has started processing this year's cocoon crop.

The enterprise has manufactured products worth over 34.5 million manats since the beginning of this year. Cocoons delivered from reception centers of Lebap province are used as raw materials.

This enterprise, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in ten years, employs over 1,100 people, including 300 young specialists.

The association currently produces raw silk, cotton and silk fabrics, silk hand carpets, silk scarves, wide range of clothes, kettles and other types of textile products. The company's products are regularly sent to two shopping centers of the province.

Turkmenabat Silk Production Association consists of three workshops: spinning and textile, silk winding and dyeing and finishing. The workshops of the enterprise are equipped with modern machinery manufactured by Japanese, French and German companies.
