Berk Teker Harvests Its First Crops, 300 Tons of Fruits
Berk Teker expects to double the harvest next year, up to 700 tons of fruits.

Berk Teker private enterprise received its first harvest this year, 300 tons of fruits from 500 hectares of land. Entrepreneurs expect to double the harvest next year, up to 700 tons of fruits.

A few years ago, Berk Teker planted 35 thousand fruit orchards in the Börmi village of Baherden etrap, Ahal velayat. Elite varieties of apple, pear, peach, and cherry have taken root thanks to the optimal layout of the garden and strict adherence to the technology of growing fruit crops, as well as the use of modern irrigation methods.

The enterprise is starting to implement a new business plan of planting fruit crops and peanuts on additionally rented 400 hectares of land. At the same time, the entrepreneurs plan to create a greenhouse complex and launch a line for processing vegetables and fruits. For this purpose, the enterprise intends to construct a vegetable storehouse with a capacity of 10 thousand tons and mini-workshops equipped with modern specialized equipment.

Collective farms, private enterprises and farmers, which are members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, planted new orchards on an area of more than 1,600 hectares and grapes on 1,500 hectares. More than 8 million trees grow on 8 thousand hectares of land allocated for farming fruits in the country.
