Exchange of views on ways to grow coffee took place at the Turkmen Agricultural University Named after S.A. Niyazov (TAU), the Bereketli Toprak newspaper reports.
This was announced during a meeting with the head of the Department of International Relations of the French company Agreenium Prof. Etienne Saur in TAU. The guest, together with the experienced teachers, also discussed ways of introducing cotton planting methods used on Turkmen soil in France.
The parties held talks on the organization of online classes via the Internet and joint research work with the experienced university teachers included in the structure of the Agreenium. The regular holding of such meetings helps to strengthen Turkmenistan’s scientific and production base and its rise to the world level.
At the meeting, the professor acquainted the participants with the activities of the French company. Currently, Agrenium implements a number of large-scale projects in agriculture, veterinary medicine and environmental protection in Europe, Asia and Africa. The company includes 15 universities in France, 4 research institutes and about 100 research laboratories. The company mainly deals with the cultivation of wild trees, the cultivation of plants that are safe for people and animals, the environmental protection and the production of environmentally friendly biological fertilizers.
Coffee mainly grows in humid climates in Africa, Asia and Latin America. A coffee plant will begin to bear fruit after 5 years. As of today, about 25 million households in the world are engaged in growing coffee.
