A team consisting of specialists from the Tourism Department of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) and members of the union engaged with tourism activities participate in a 20-day tourism development seminar organized in the city of Urumqi, People's Republic of China.
The main goal of the courses, which last from October 17 to November 5, is to explore the strategic development in the field of tourism, marketing and tourism development planning, its modern management, the basics of tourism industry that operate in a market economy, and to get acquainted with the experience of Chinese travel companies.
It is expected that the curriculum will contribute to further broadening the horizons, improving the qualifications of national specialists working in the tourism sector of Turkmenistan, as well as introducing advanced Chinese experience in the domestic tourism industry.
Last February, Beijing hosted the Turkmen-Chinese forum on cooperation in the field of tourism. Following the results of the forum, Turkmenistan and China inked a number of contracts and agreements aimed at further expanding the mutually beneficial tourism cooperation. The documents covered a wide range of areas of partnership in this area, including the holding of various tourism events in the two countries, investments, the training of specialists for the industry and information exchange.
