Government Meeting Addresses Issues Regarding Sectors of Turkmen Economy
President of Turkmenistan underlined the need to constantly monitor the progress of the TAPI pipeline's Turkmenistan section construction.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a regular video conference session of the Cabinet of Ministers on Saturday.

During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov informed on the visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Turkmenistan and preparations for the scheduled official visit of the governmental delegation led by the President of Turkmenistan to the Italian Republic.

After the Minister’s briefing, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that, for his part, he attached great importance to the further development of traditionally friendly interstate relations, including the strengthening of effective cooperation with the European Union.

The construction of the Turkmen section of the  TAPI gas pipeline is underway

Myratgeldy Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, briefed on the construction works on the Turkmen section of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.

President of Turkmenistan underlined the need to constantly monitor the progress of the TAPI pipeline's Turkmenistan section construction and the overall implementation of the project. He then handed a severe reprimand to the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Myratgeldy Meredov for unsatisfactory performance of his duties and shortcomings in his work. The Head of State instructed the official to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

An IT park will appear at the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Bayramgeldy Ovezov then briefed about the work carried out by the Türkmenaragatnaşyk Agency and the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics to create an IT park. The Deputy Chairman also announced the preparation of a project to create a professional training program on a self-supporting basis, on the basis of the institute.

Ovezov noted that this program will not only make it possible for specialists and students to improve the qualifications and expand the range of technological knowledge, but also to exchange experience and study software engineering.

The Turkmen-Italian business forum will gather more than 100 Italian companies

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Chary Gylyjov briefed about the preparation of a Turkmen-Italian business forum which will take place on November 6 in Milan in the framework of the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Italian Republic. The Deputy Chairman said that more than 100 Italian companies will participate in the business forum and that the organization of the exhibition of products manufactured in Turkmenistan is planned on the sidelines of the forum.

Gylyjov also informed about the results of the business forum held on October 21 in Tokyo, during which the Japanese business community expressed interest in the import of various Turkmen products, including the supply of national handmade carpets.

Winter wheat sowing completed on 690 thousand hectares of land

During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev announced that winter wheat sowing was completed on an area of ​​690 thousand hectares allocated to farmers for the next year's harvest.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the systematic measures, implemented as part of the agrarian reform, are designed to turn this sector of the Turkmen economy into a highly profitable industry.

A number of laws will be amended and supplemented

The Chairperson of the Mejlis Gulshat Mammedova noted that currently the parliamentarians are carrying out the analysis of the current legislation, preparing new versions of the Arbitration Procedure and Civil Code, as well as draft laws of Turkmenistan requiring amendments and additions, including the laws “On hydrocarbon resources and education ”,“ On Political Parties ”,“ On Public Associations ”, “On the Court ”,“ On Local Executive Bodies ”, and “On Local Representative Bodies of State Power ”.

During the government meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the main directions of the Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025 and instructed to carry out comprehensive work to provide opportunities for high-quality educational services that meet national and international standards, which are the requirements of the modern information society.
