Erkin Gurluşyk private enterprise is among the first in Mary velayat to use shading nets at its orchards in Oguzhan etrap. The enterprise also introduced modern irrigation technologies.
Deputy Director of the Erkin Gurluşyk enterprise Parahat Shamuradov said that shading nets are widely used in Europe and that they significantly improve the development of fruit trees, especially in arid climates. Special nets protect fruits from gusty winds and sunburns, as well as the soil - from the rapid evaporation of moisture.
The specialists of the enterprise were convinced of the benefits of nets when they shaded several dozen hectares of an apple orchard planted two years ago. Saplings of fruit trees have taken root and have already given the first harvest. Agricultural producers plan to annually increase the area of the orchard by 20-30 hectares.
The factor of successful vegetative growth of trees and fruit development was the use of root watering technology. Grape plantations, covering an area of more than 20 hectares, are equipped with drip irrigation system.
Erkin Gurluşyk enterprise is a multi-purpose farm. The enterprise grows fruit trees, grapes, and gourds on 300 hectares of long-term leased land.
The enterprise also built a livestock farm here, which contains about 300 cattle. Recently, the entrepreneurs leased another 630 hectares of empty land for fodder crops. After preparatory agricultural activities, the entrepreneurs planted corn, barley, and lucerne here. The expansion of the food supply will increase the number of cattle to up to 850.
