Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajyyev held a meeting with the delegation of the leading German bank concern Deutsche Bank AG headed by the Chief Executive Officer, Head of Regional Directors for Central and Eastern Europe Joerg Bongartz in Ashgabat, Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a press release on November 12.
During the talks at the Ministry, the parties noted the success of longstanding cooperation between Turkmenistan and Deutsche Bank AG, as well as discussed the key aspects of collaboration.
Hajyyev and Bongartz raised the issues of partnerships with the German companies and the role of Turkmen-German Intergovernmental Work Group on Economy in the context of further promotion of joint projects.
The parties discussed the positive transformations in financial-banking sector of Turkmenistan and the significance of digitalization in the field taking into consideration the international norms and involvement of the best world practices.
In this context, the sides also discussed the cooperation in the area of international mechanisms on countering the financial crimes.
Deutsche Bank is one of the five foreign banks operating in Turkmenistan. The bank acted as coordinating and structuring bank, book runner and mandated lead arranger of the Kiyanly petrochemical plant project.
