President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar in Turkmenistan Mubarak Abdurrahman Mubarak Al Nasr on Thursday, who presented credentials to the Turkmen Leader.
The diplomat conveyed greetings and good wishes from the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the Turkmen leader and noted the interest of his country in enhancing the interstate dialogue.
The Head of State conveyed the best wishes to the Qatar leadership and emphasized that friendly and constructive relations are inherent in Turkmen-Qatar relations.
Turkmen Leader and the Ambassador noted that there is a solid potential for enhancing mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, stimulating productive ties in various industries. The sides named the oil and gas sector and the transport sector among the key vectors of interstate relations.
At the same time, the parties underlined the important role to the activities of the Turkmen-Qatari Intergovernmental Commission, designed to diversify cooperation in the trade, investment, industrial and technological fields.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov received the Qatari Ambassador at the Turkmen Foreign Ministry on Wednesday. The diplomats exchanged views on aspects of cooperation between the two countries in political-diplomatic, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The parties have noted the important role of the Joint Turkmen-Qatari Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic Cooperation and underlined the opportunities of strengthening collaboration in the field of energy, construction industry, tourism and other vital sectors.
