Turkmen delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov held another round of annual Turkmen-American political consultations in Washington, Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a press release on November 20.
During the consultations at the U.S. Department of State, the American side was represented by the Acting Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia Alice Wells.
The parties exchanged views on the current issues of bilateral agenda. The participants of the meeting stated the importance of political consultations as an effective tool for considering the current state of affairs and perspectives of deepening cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States in political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.
The parties reiterated firm adherence to further widening of multifaceted partnership between the two states.
According to the U.S. State Department’s official statement, Foreign Minister Meredov also met with Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Keith Krach to discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues.
