Top Turkmen Diplomat Holds Several Meetings in Dubai and Abu-Dhabi

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the State Minister for International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy on November 23 in Dubai.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed the development of Turkmen-Emirates ties including the trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian collaboration. The parties also discussed the importance of the upcoming EXPO-2020 international exhibition in which Turkmenistan will participate.

Turkmen Foreign Minister then attended the official opening ceremony of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Dubai.

The Consul-general of Turkmenistan in the UAE Yhlas Amanov noted that the opening of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Dubai will make a valuable contribution in the development of Turkmen-Emirates relations on the whole spectrum of cooperation and will own a special role in the historical records of bilateral ties.

Turkmen Foreign Minister also met with the Deputy Prime-minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs of the UAE Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan on November 24 in Abu Dhabi.

During the talks, the parties noted the high level of cooperation between the two countries. The parties also emphasized the effectiveness of trade-economic relations and underlined the necessity of exchanging expertise in the area of high technologies, urban planning, transport and communications.

Then the Turkmen Minister held talks with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the UAE Anwar Mohammed Gargash.

The Ministers paid special attention to the collaboration between the external policy agencies of the two countries and considered the issues of expanding ties in energy, transport, education, sport and tourism spheres.
