Altyn Gul Individual Enterprise, located in Lebap velayat’s Danev etrap in the northeastern Turkmenistan, exports tomatoes grown in its 2.5 hectare greenhouse to Kazakhstan and Russia.
The private farmers studied the rich experience of Spain, Holland, and Italy in growing tomatoes, and also equipped the greenhouse with Turkish machinery.
The major distinguishing feature of the greenhouse is that tomatoes are grown on a coconut substrate. The greenhouse currently includes 56 thousand tomato bushes, each of which yields 10-15 kg of the crop.
About 30 employees work in the greenhouse complex of the Altyn Gul Individual Enterprise. The enterprise, a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, plans to annually harvest 550-600 tons of tomatoes.
