Haldor Topsoe CEO Hands IChemE Award Certificates to Turkmen Leader
Haldor Topsoe’s TIGAS gas-to-gasoline technology was implemented for the first time in Ahal GTG plant in Turkmenistan.

Natural gas-to-gasoline plant in Turkmenistan’s Ahal velayat was awarded with the certificates proving an innovative character of production of the Great Britain’s Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).

During the Monday meeting with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat, the Head of leading Danish company Haldor Topsoe Bjerne Stephan Clausen handed the certificates to the Turkmen Leader.

The TIGAS technology, developed by Haldor Topsoe for the Ahal GTG plant, allows the production of high-quality gasoline in combination with highly efficient catalysts with less energy consumption and minimum environmental impact.

The plant is designed to annually process 1.785 billion cubic meters of gas to produce 600 thousand tons of ECO 93 gasoline, which complies with EURO 5 standard, 12 thousand tons of diesel fuel and 115 thousand tons of liquefied gas.

Haldor Topsoe is the only company in the world that developed an end-to-end gas-to-gasoline technology. The company implemented the technology in an industrial scale for the first time at the GTG plant in Turkmenistan.

The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), founded in 1922, is a global professional engineering institution with over 37 thousand members in over 100 countries worldwide and with primary offices in the UK and Australia.

The IChemE Global Awards, now in their 25th year, celebrates chemical and process engineering achievements. They are widely considered the world’s most prestigious chemical engineering awards.
