Agro-Industrial Complex in Turkmenabat Processes 54 Thousand Tons of Licorice
Last year, 104% growth was achieved in the export of thick and dry licorice extracts, and 105% in the export of knotted licorice root.

Buýan Agro-industrial complex, located in Lebap velayat’s Turkmenabat city in the northeastern Turkmenistan, collected and processed more than 54 thousand tons of licorice roots in 2019.

The agro-industrial complex, subsidiary of the Türkmendermansenagat association, exceeded the annual production target by more than 102%.

An enterprise with a history of more than a century employs about 300 people. The specialists of the enterprise divided in 10 groups collect the licorice root on the right and left banks of the Amu Darya river.

Last year, 104% growth was achieved in the export of thick and dry licorice extracts, and 105% in the export of knotted licorice root.

Ural licorice and sweet licorice can be processed in an industrial scale.

Buýan Agro-industrial complex mainly exports its products to Serbia, China, the UK, the United Arab Emirates and India.
