The international conference “Turkmenistan and international organizations: cooperation in the name of peace and development” with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took place in Ashgabat’s Oguzkent hotel on Tuesday.
“Being a supporter of both bilateral and multilateral cooperation, our country at various levels, in particular in the framework of international organizations, regularly puts forward tasks that are of great importance for present and future generations, and tries to solve them,” said the Head of State at the beginning of his speech.
“We will consider issues affecting national and universal interests,” said the Turkmen President, adding that, the attendees of the forum will define joint work for the near future.
In the framework of the Conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan, 12 documents on cooperation with the UN were signed, which cover bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN structures for 2020.
The Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Institute of State, Law and Democracy, and the State Statistics Committee agreed on their actions in the relevant areas with the UNICEF.
The ministries of education and foreign affairs of Turkmenistan also signed documents with UN agencies.
