The farmers have planted 60 thousand tomato bushes on a coconut substrate, each of which is expected to yield up to 10-15 kg of the crop.

Bäş Nur Economic Society exports tomatoes grown in its greenhouse complex in Lebap velayat’s Charjev etrap in the northeastern Turkmenistan to Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyz Republic.

The company installed modern equipment in the greenhouse. The crops are planted hydroponically, a method of growing fruits and vegetables without the use of natural soil. The farmers have planted 60 thousand tomato bushes on a coconut substrate, each of which is expected to yield up to 10-15 kg of the crop. The farmers expect to annually collect 600 tons of the crops.

The feeding of the crops, maintaining the required temperature level and air exchange in the greenhouse is carried out using an automated system.

Bambus bees are used to pollinate tomatoes during their flowering. The process results in the simultaneous ripening and in the similar sizes of the tomatoes. The greenhouse grows Bandito tomato variety, which is distinguished by its resistance to various diseases and good taste.
