Nusaýýollary, Hyzmat Merkezi, Edermen and Altyn Nesil private companies are intensively building the 600-kilometer Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway. The general contractor of the project is Türkmen Awtoban Closed Joint-Stock Company.
The length of the first section of the highway, Ashgabat – Tejen, is 203 kilometers. On this section, 41 out of 67 planned bridges have already been completed and the construction of the rest is underway.
The builders laid the first layer of sand and gravel, and are currently laying the second layer in the first hundred kilometers of the highway.
550 builders with 190 pieces of technical equipment work on the section of the highway from the 40th to the 60th kilometer allotted to the Edermen Economic Society, according to the section team manager Rejepov Muhammetjelil.
Austrian company VCE monitors the quality of work at the construction site. According to the representative of the company in Turkmenistan Domagoj Perkovich, the consultants of the company, together with the specialists of the technical control department of Türkmen Awtoban CJSC, carry out the relevant work.
“Seminars on quality control of the highway are held on a regular basis,” said Perkovich.
The construction of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway started in January 2019. Türkmen Awtoban intends to complete the $2.3 billion project in December 2023.
