Turkmenistan received planters and tractors equipped with telematics systems from John Deere (USA).
Turkmenistan will receive a total of 155 John Deere tractors and the same number of wheel sets and cultivators, as well as 98 planters in April-March of this year.
The John Deere tractors equipped with telematics systems have been successfully tested in the cotton fields of Ahal velayat’s Gokdepe, Kaka and Ak Bugday etraps.
Last August, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) was signed for the introduction of digital electronic control systems in agricultural machinery and equipment in the agricultural industry for the period 2020-2030.
According to the document, in the next few years, the high-performance agricultural machinery of the John Deere and CLAAS brands, purchased by Turkmenistan in 2013-2019, will be equipped with telematics systems.
Turkmenistan has also concluded an agreement with John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co. KG for the supply of 600 cotton harvesters. The 300 harvesters have already arrived in 2019, and another 300 will arrive by the beginning of the 2020 cotton harvest season.
Turkmen agro-businesses can also purchase modern models of John Deere agricultural machinery and equipment through a bank loan. In order to provide state support to businesses, President of Turkmenistan signed the relevant decree in January this year.
Cotton sowing will begin in Turkmenistan on Wednesday.
