Tehran and Ashgabat are determined to further develop economic relations, reported IRNA news agency on Friday citing Iran's Ambassador to Turkmenistan Gholm Abbas Arbab Khales.
In an interview with the agency, the Iranian Ambassador said consultations on the issue have been held with Turkmen officials on the sidelines of the Industry exhibition held with the participation of 200 companies in production and service fields in March.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov also attended the consultations, the Ambassador noted.
He noted that both sides discussed Iran’s economic capacities in agriculture, technical and engineering services, pharmaceutical, tourism and food industry fields and production of construction materials.
The Iranian Diplomat expressed hope for these consultations to result in boosting economic relations between the private sectors of the two countries.
North-South railway corridor connecting Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran was commissioned in 2014 to facilitate trade within the region.
