Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a working meeting on Tuesday on the issue of joining international documents of the United Nations (UN), particularly the agreements and conventions in the field of sustainable transport.
The meeting gathered representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a number of other state ministries and departments of Turkmenistan. International experts also attended the session via video link.
During the session, the participants discussed cooperation of Turkmenistan with the UN agencies in different areas. The parties paid special attention on the issues of joining a number of international agreements and conventions in the area of transport and cargo transportation.
The participants also emphasized the importance of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between the Government of Turkmenistan and the UN for 2021-2025 signed on March 14, 2020 in Ashgabat.
It is expected that the accession of Turkmenistan to the international agreements and conventions in the area of transport and cargo transportation would contribute to further development of trade-economic ties between the countries of the region and the world.
