Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting with Dimitri Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE), in a video conference format on Wednesday.
During the videoconference, the parties noted the high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the BIE on a wide range of issues and underlined the importance of the international exhibition Dubai EXPO 2020.
During the online negotiations, the participants discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation.
Among the topics of negotiations was the issue of providing expert advice and assistance from the BIE for the project of organization of a virtual exhibition of export goods and services of Turkmenistan.
This will also help the international business community to get acquainted with the results of the reforms and industrialization in the country, and with the modernization of the country's industry and services sector.
The issues of creating regular online exhibitions of products of industries and private enterprises of the country were discussed at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on April 10.
Mr. Kerkentzes was also invited to attend the International Conference titled "Neutrality Policy and Its Role in Ensuring International Peace, Security and Sustainable Development", scheduled to take place in Ashgabat in December.
The Bureau of International Expositions was founded in 1928 in Paris. The organization currently includes 170 countries.
Turkmenistan became a member of the Bureau on September 16, 2012.
