Article 221 on strengthening control measures at border checkpoints has been introduced into the Law of Turkmenistan “On State Border”.
According to part 1 of the article, in the event of any circumstances that might cause massive damage to public health, in order to provide for special and enhanced additional types of control, disinfection barriers for vehicles and facilities designed to disinfect automobile and railway transport, are constructed at checkpoints, and they carry out related disinfection work.
The article provides for the carrying out of disinfection-fumigation works against insects following the results of the initial inspections of under quarantine plants and products made from them.
The activities stipulated by the first part of this article are carried out by the relevant ministries and departments on behalf of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
The procedure for implementing the necessary measures is approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
The law entered into force on the day of its official publication, which is on April 21.
