Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a briefing titled “Development of the healthcare system of Turkmenistan and international cooperation” on Wednesday.
The briefing participants noted in detail in their speeches about the effectiveness of the healthcare system of Turkmenistan and the significance of international cooperation in this regard. The participants underlined that the national programmes on the protection of human health are successfully realized and the necessary measures on the prevention of dangerous infectious diseases are carried out taking into consideration the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the national legislation of the country.
During the event, it was noted that Turkmenistan has no confirmed cases of novel coronavirus COVID-19.
In their speeches, the representatives of international organizations noted the efficiency of taken measures in the healthcare system of Turkmenistan, including the high level of immunization of the population and the projects and programmes on combatting infectious and non-communicable diseases.
The sides exchanged views on further cooperation of Turkmenistan with its international partners for the benefit of the global health, peace and stability.
The event gathered the heads and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan, chiefs of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan. The representatives of local and foreign media outlets also attended the briefing.
