Turkmenistan, EU Cooperate in Combating Economic Crimes
Representatives of several ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and the European Union attended the online meeting.

A meeting to discuss the EU - Central Asia Rule of Law Platform was held in a video conference format at the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan on Tuesday.

The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize Turkmen side with the EU-Central Asia Rule of Law Platform regional program, and with its main component titled “Promoting transparency and action against economic crimes in Central Asia” (CA TAEC).

Representatives of several ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Internal Affairs, Finance and Economy, represented the Turkmen side. Representatives of the European Union in Turkmenistan and specialists of the CA TAEC project team represented the European side.

Spheres such as fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, corporate governance and compliance with business standards are important components of the joint projects.

The meeting participants exchanged views on the prospects for the implementation of the project, its goals and objectives, and also got acquainted with the action plan.
