The ministries of foreign affairs of Turkmenistan and Turkey held political consultations via a video link on Thursday.
The Turkmen delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vepa Hajiyev, and the Turkish side was led by the head of the Department of Central Asia and Caucasus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yonet Сan Tezel.
The meeting participant s discussed the pressing issues of bilateral relations and the cooperation in the framework of international organizations.
The parties confirmed the presence of huge potential for building a fruitful and diverse partnership, and emphasized the importance of regular contacts at the highest and intergovernmental levels, and between business entities of the two countries.
The diplomats considered the situation with the coronavirus pandemic, including the measures taken for countering its spread and the opportunities for joint actions in this direction. The sides also discussed the impact of the pandemic on bilateral trade-economic ties, particularly on the freight traffic and transportation.
The diplomats also exchanged views on further development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
