Turkmenistan Holds Seminar on System of National Accounts

The State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan hosted an opening ceremony of the online training on the System of National Accounts on Monday, the UNDP said in its press release.

The training is organized within the project “Strengthening institutional and technical capacity of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan”, implemented jointly by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Turkmenistan and Government of Turkmenistan.

The programme of the training module System of National Accounts 2008 (SNA 2008) is compiled in accordance with the requirements for the mandatory minimum content and level of training of audience – representatives of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, the Central Bank of Turkmenistan and other interested ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan.

“The purpose of today's event is to increase the level of knowledge among employees of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, the Central Bank of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan on the economic content and information opportunities of macroeconomic aggregates of the SNA 2008” said Rovshen Nurmuhamedov, UNDP Assistant Resident Representative.

The online training is led by the International consultant Associate Professor, Candidate of Economic Sciences Olga Obrazcova. The objectives of the project implemented by the UNDP and State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan is to strengthen institutional and technical capacity aiming at supporting the transition to SNA 2008 and the implementation of objectives and indicators of the relevant Sustainable Development Goals.

The training manual was developed with support of the Experts on Demand program funded by the government of the Russian Federation.
