Turkmen President Recommends Private Producer to Grow Pineapples in Dashoguz
Tomatoes of the Gok Yayla variety are grown in the greenhouse of Altyn Tug Individual Enterprise.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a working visit Dashoguz velayat told to head of Altyn Tug Individual Enterprise that pineapple cultivation in his greenhouse would also be profitable, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reports.

The Head of State also focused on the appropriateness of studying the cultivation methods of citrus fruits.

Isaguly Garabayev, the head of Altyn Tug Individual Enterprise that is located in the velayat’s S.A. Niyazov etrap, acquainted the Turkmen President with the plants cultivated in the greenhouse.

Tomatoes of the Gok Yayla variety, red bell pepper of Bitarap-20 variety, yellow bell pepper of Nabat variety and strawberries of Datly variety are grown in the greenhouse complex commissioned in 2019.

Tomatoes are grown on 10 hectares of the greenhouse while strawberries and bell peppers are grown on the rest of the greenhouse.

The head of the company said 2.5 thousand tons of tomatoes, 20 tons of strawberries and 4 tons of bell pepper are annually grown in the greenhouse complex, adding that currently the complex employs 120 workers.

The businessman also informed that he plans to grow bananas.

Having instructed to consider the possibility of exporting the crops, the Head of State, addressing the head of the enterprise, stressed that businesses will be supported in the sale of domestic products on the foreign markets.

The Turkmen President emphasized that along with ensuring the freshness of the products, one of the most important tasks is their processing and long-term storage. In this regard, the Head of State noted the need to build refrigerated warehouses in the etraps for storing agricultural products.
