An informal session of the Turkmen-Italian business forum took place in a videoconference format last Friday, the Embassy of Italy in Turkmenistan said in its press release.
The meeting gathered representatives of various institutions, companies and private entrepreneurs from both countries. Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Manlio di Stefano and Italian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Diego Ungaro also attended the meeting.
During an online session, the consultant of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in Turkmenistan Azat Mededov, presented a brief overview of the economic situation in Turkmenistan and analysis of statistics on bilateral trade from the Italian Statistical Institute (ISTAT) and the State Committee for Statistics of Turkmenistan.
The parties also discussed the results achieved during the previous official business forum, which was held in November last year in Milan.
The next such event is scheduled for the coming fall, said Ambassador Ungaro.
Representatives of the SACE regional office in Moscow, the EBRD office in Ashgabat and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan also gave speeches at the meeting.
