Türkmenaragatnaşyk (Turkmen Communications) Agency on Thursday held an online conference with the participation of more than 30 local IT companies operating in Turkmenistan.
Representatives of the Ministry of Education also attended the meeting, which was chaired by Hajymyrat Hudayguliyev, the head of the Türkmenaragatnaşyk Agency.
The head of the Türkmenaragatnaşyk Agency briefed on ongoing activities to transition to digital systems in Turkmenistan and on the introduction of IT technologies in the Turkmen economy.
Companies, including entrepreneurs, informed about their ongoing projects contributing to the development of the country’s digital economy. At the same time, the private sector also made a number of new proposals in this regard.
The meeting participants also discussed preparations for the annual exhibition organized by Türkmenaragatnaşyk Agency.
During a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in February this year, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced the allocation of $10 million for the creation of IT centers in Ashgabat and the velayats.
During a Cabinet of Ministers meeting in June, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed to actively involve businesspeople with the right to carry out activities in relevant fields in the creation of a system of automated electronic information databases.
