Turkmen Agricultural Producer Aims to Grow Bananas at Greenhouse
Altyn Tug Individual Enterprise presently grows 8 varieties of tomatoes, 3 types of strawberries and 2 types of bell pepper on its 12-hectare greenhouse complex.

Altyn Tug Individual Enterprise carries out technological work to increase varieties of vegetable products grown at its greenhouse complex, located in S.A. Niyazov etrap in Turkmenistan’s northern velayat of Dashoguz.

According to the Türkmenistan newspaper’s Friday issue, the company implements agro-technical measures at the greenhouse complex to prepare land for growing bananas in the future.

The greenhouse enterprise presently grows 8 varieties of tomatoes on 10 hectares of the complex and grows 3 types of strawberries and 2 types of bell pepper on the remaining 2 hectares.

The company exported over 1000 tons of vegetables this year. The greenhouse complex, which occupies an important role in the production of vegetables and gourds in the northern region of the country, supplies 20-25 tons of tomatoes, 400-450 kg of strawberries, about half a ton of bell pepper to consumers every week.

During a working trip to Dashoguz velayat in June this year, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the greenhouse complex of the Altyn Tug IE. Back then, the Turkmen Leader advised the head of the enterprise to grow pineapples and citrus crops at the complex.
