Turkmen Foreign Minister Discusses TAPI Pipeline With New Indian Ambassador
Newly appointed Ambassador of India to Turkmenistan Vidhu Peethambaran Nair presented copies of his credentials.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Vidhu Peethambaran Nair on Tuesday, Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

During the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the diplomats stressed the importance of the TAPI transnational gas pipeline.

The officials discussed important aspects of cooperation in the political, diplomatic and economic spheres. The sides exchanged views on effective interaction within the framework of international structures, in particular the United Nations.

Emphasizing mutual interest in further developing the established productive dialogue, the parties also discussed issues of bilateral partnership in the fields of healthcare, education, energy and transport.

In addition, the parties noted the role of cultural and humanitarian relations in further enhancing bilateral ties between the two countries.

The Ambassador Vidhu Peethambaran Nair presented copies of his credentials. The Indian diplomat was appointed to the new post on July 13.
