New Fee-Paying Specialized School to Open in Turkmenistan’s Capital
The new specialized school No. 21, which will operate on a fee basis, is designed for 720 school-age children.

On September 1 this year, a new specialized school No.21, which will operate on a fee basis, will open in Turkmenistan’s capital of Ashgabat, Neytralnyi Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Located at the intersection of Hoja Ahmet Yasavi and A.Niyazov avenues, the secondary school is designed for 720 school-age children. The educational institution also includes an additional pre-school department for 320 students.

According to the report, the educational complex provides for the creation of all optimal conditions for the in-depth development of the abilities, skills of independent work and thinking of the young generation, starting from an early age.

In the upcoming academic year, the pre-school department will open its doors to 5-year-olds, while 6-year-olds will start their educational journey as the first-graders of the secondary school. The educational establishment also accepts students from other educational institutions from the second grade based on the results of the admission exams.

Italian language

Italian will be included as a new subject into the curriculum of secondary specialized school No. 85. Moreover, Turkmen National Institute of Foreign Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi will also offer an Italian language major starting this year.

The Italian language is not a new subject for study in educational institutions of Turkmenistan. More than ten years ago, the language was included in the list of majors of the Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli.
