Western Turkmenistan’s Farmers Plan 20,000 Tons of Sugar Beet Harvest
The farmers are presently plowing and leveling the soil on the plots for sugar beets.

Farmers in Turkmenistan’s western velayat of Balkan intend to plant sugar beet on 3,000 hectares of land and harvest 20,000 tons of the crop, Bereketli Toprak newspaper reported on Monday.

According to the report, the farmers are presently plowing and leveling the soil on the plots for beets.

Also in the western region of the country, the harvest of potatoes and other vegetables has reached its peak. Work continues on sowing and caring for fall potatoes and melons.

In 2019, Mary velayat’s farmers sowed 14,900 hectares of sugar beets and harvested 209,000 tons of the crop.
