Turkmenistan to Increase Its Electricity Exports
The construction of a 400 MW Zerger gas turbine power plant is currently underway in the Charjev etrap of Lebap velayat.

Turkmenistan expects to increase its electricity exports by 8.7% until 2025, Türkmen Gündogary newspaper reported on Saturday.

According to the newspaper, the construction of new power plants, transmission lines, modern transformer substations and switchgear will facilitate the increase in exports.

In accordance with the Program of Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2019-2025, new capacities are being created in the country to increase the export of electricity.

The construction of a 400 MW Zerger gas turbine power plant is currently underway in the Charjev etrap of Lebap velayat. The station will become the main source of electricity supply to Afghanistan.

In January-August of this year, the electricity production in Turkmenistan saw a growth rate of 114.5% and the production plan has been implemented by 106%.
