Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan last Thursday participated in a webinar “E-commerce in the CAREC Region: Laws and Policies” as part of the cooperation with Asian Development Bank and its Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program.
According to press release by the Turkmen State Customs Service, the main purpose of the webinar was to discuss the development of domestic and cross-border e-commerce and digital commerce in the Central Asian countries.
During the webinar, international experts presented legal and regulatory acts governing electronic commerce. The webinar also included discussions on issues of customs in the field of e-commerce, IT infrastructure and digital platforms, and presentation on information on global initiatives of development partners.
The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan is already successfully implementing the ASYCUDA World integrated information system and is presently working on the implementation of the Single Window system for foreign trade.
