President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the head of Lukoil PJSC Vagit Alekperov during his working trip to Turkmenbashi city on Wednesday, TDH news agency reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for the implementation of joint projects and long-term partnership on an economically beneficial basis for both parties.
Expressing Lukoil's interest in actively participating in transformation programs successfully implemented in Turkmenistan, Vagit Alekperov stressed the readiness of his company to provide the Turkmen side with the experience gained in increasing the capacity of the upstream and downstream segment, developing the gas and petrochemical industry, producing high-tech products that are in high demand in the global market.
Turkmen President also met with the Chairman of the Board of Çalık Holding Ahmet Chalyk.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the fruitful nature of relations with Turkey, with which Turkmenistan is bound by strong bonds of friendship, brotherhood and historical and cultural affinity, and noted the activity of the Turkish company in the Turkmen market.
Emphasizing the importance of the TAP power transmission line, the construction of which was entrusted to Çalık Holding, President Berdimuhamedov instructed the CEO of the company to complete all the works at the high level within the target period.
Noting that it is a great honor for his company to continue long-term cooperation, participating in the implementation of large-scale programs deployed in Turkmenistan, the Turkish businessman reported on the progress in implementing a number of joint projects.
Çalık Enerji has started the construction of new power units at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries and is also involved in the construction of the ring power transmission system in Turkmenistan.
