State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan on Wednesday held an online meeting with representatives of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
According to the TDH news agency, the online talks focused on the use of population and housing census data and vital statistics to measure indicators and analytical strategies.
The meeting participants also discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation and prospects for its promotion in the framework of the implementation of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The officials exchanged views on the use of SDG indicators, geospatial information and tools for the formation of data on the population and housing census, which will help to achieve a common understanding of definitions and methods for calculating SDG data.
