Representatives of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) on Wednesday held online talks with the representative of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Turkmenistan Nino Nadiradze.
According to the UIET’s Thursday press release, the meeting participants highlighted the productivity of cooperation between Turkmen private companies and USAID in the implementation of a number of promising projects, in supporting the export opportunities of Turkmen entrepreneurs, including in the agriculture field.
Noting the positive experience of cooperation with the UIET, the USAID Representative made proposals to bolster cooperation in 2021.
During the conversation, the meeting participants confirmed their interest in intensifying contacts.
In addition, the USAID’s tenth annual Central Asia Trade Forum, an international event promoting regional trade and connectivity across Central Asia, was held online from November 16 to 20. The head of USAID’s Department for Tourism, Education and Sports took part in the forum.
The four-day event included discussions about COVID-19’s impact on regional supply chains, the recovery of tourism in Central Asia, developments toward a regional energy market, regional e-commerce challenges and opportunities, building public-private dialogue, experiences from women entrepreneurs from the region, and more.
