Chairperson of the Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan Gulshat Mammedova on Wednesday, during a joint meeting of the Government of Turkmenistan and the State Security Council, presented to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov a proposal to declare "Turkmenistan - Homeland of Peace and Trust" as a slogan of the 2021 and a draft emblem for next year.
According to TDH news agency’s report, Mammedova said the motto was put forward on the basis of the Head of State’s initiative and numerous proposals received from the people, state institutions, large public associations and political parties. The draft emblem was selected based on the results of the announced competition.
The Head of Mejlis noted that the content of the slogan is consistent with the Resolution "International Year of Peace and Trust, 2021", adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan at the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved the motto and emblem for next year and gave instructions on sharing them in the press and on the country's TV channels.
