After a short warming, cold weather will return to Turkmenistan again, Orient news outlet reported on Friday.
Next week, a cold anticyclone from the south of the European part of Russia and Western Kazakhstan will come to Turkmenistan. Cold air masses will sweep across the region, resulting in a noticeable drop in temperature.
A sharp cold snap will begin to gain momentum from January 20. On the night of January 21, the air temperature is expected to drop to 5 degrees Celsius below zero in Ashgabat. During the day, precipitation is also expected, most likely snow.
On the territory of Turkmenistan, the low temperature will last for about two weeks. In some regions, the thermometer will drop to -15 degrees Celsius.
To avoid viral and colds during the cold season, the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan recommends dressing appropriately for the weather.
