Deputy Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Gadyrgeldi Mushshikov during a government meeting on Friday reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the draft Resolution on privatization of number of buildings in Ashgabat, TDH news agency reports.
The Vice-Premier Mushshikov said that on initiative of the Head of State, a number of measures were taken to privatize state-owned enterprises and transform them into joint-stock companies.
In this regard, a draft Resolution on direct (targeted) privatization by members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan of shops, a restaurant and a trading house located in Ashgabat was submitted to Turkmen President, with the conditions for maintaining the main profile of their activities and jobs.
Following the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said the country has achieved a dynamic growth of a socially oriented economic sphere, which is based on various forms of ownership and provides for a gradual transition to market relations.
In order to reform the national economic complex of the country, based on the introduction of effective methods of economic management and improvement of various ownership structures for managing enterprises, the privatization of facilities will be carried out in stages, according to the report.
The steps taken in this direction contribute to an increase of private sector’s share in the national economy, Turkmen President added. Having signed the Resolution on privatization of a number of enterprises in Ashgabat, the Head of State sent it to the Vice-Premier and addressed relevant instructions in this regard.
