The United States looks forward to continue cooperation with Turkmenistan in supporting peace in Afghanistan and to develop energy potential of the Caspian Sea, the U.S. President Joe Biden wrote in the congratulatory letter to his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of Nowruz holiday.
“On the occasion of the Nowruz holiday, I wish you and the people of Turkmenistan peace, joy and prosperity,” Biden wrote in the letter, published by the offiсial media of Turkmenistan.
“This year, Turkmenistan celebrates the 30th anniversary of its independence. For my part, I look forward to continued work between my administration and your country in areas such as resolving common security issues, supporting peace in Afghanistan and identifying new areas of economic cooperation in light of Your desire to diversify the country's economy, in particular through the development of energy potential of the Caspian Sea,” Biden said in his congratulatory letter to Turkmen President.
The U.S. President added that his administration hopes “to continue cooperation within the framework of the C5+1 format, created at the initiative of Secretary of State Kerry five years ago.”
President Joe Biden concluded his letter with the congratulations in the Turkmen language: “Nowruz baýramyňyz gutly bolsun!”, which translates as “Happy Nowruz Holiday!”
The C5+1 format serves as a multilateral mechanism of interaction between the five Central Asian countries and the United States. The dialogue focuses on economic development, regional cooperation and security issues.
