Number of Economic Entities in Turkmenistan Increases by 44.3%
In January-March 2021, the number of manufacturing enterprises in Turkmenistan increased by more than 53%.

In January-March 2021, the number of registered new economic entities increased by 44.3% compared to the same period in 2020, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) reported on its website on Thursday with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan.

Most of the new enterprises are specialized in agriculture, their number increased by 88% over the period. And the number of manufacturing enterprises during this period increased by more than 53%, according to the report.

While the share of state-owned economic entities continues to decline, the number of small businesses and organizations of private ownership is growing.

In the first three months of 2021, the non-state sector of the economy of Turkmenistan increased its production of silk fabrics (3.1%), garments and knitwear (2.5%), plastic and fiberglass pipes (155%), mineral waters and soft drinks (20.5%), whole milk products (11.2%), butter (35%), confectionery (8.0%), cereals (85.1%) and some other types of industrial products.

During the period, the State budget received 36.2% more funds from the non-state sector of the economy compared to the same period last year.
