The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi in a telephone conversation on Monday paid special attention to the preparation for the upcoming official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to Turkmenistan this year.
The foreign ministers exchanged views on the organizational matters of the visit, including preparations for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, which is scheduled to be held on the eve of the visit, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan said in its press release.
The parties also discussed issues related to the holding of the VI Caspian Summit in Turkmenistan this year.
The ministers agreed to continue regular political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries to discuss bilateral cooperation.
In a telephone conversation in April 2021, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow invited his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to visit Turkmenistan in order to discuss relevant issues of bilateral cooperation and sign important agreements.
