Turkmenistan imported several types of COVID-19 vaccines, including 3 Russian and 2 Chinese vaccines, the Minister of Healthare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan Nurmuhammet Amannepesov reported to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a government meeting on Friday.
During an off-site meeting of the Emergency Commission to Combat the Spread of Diseases in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, the Minister announced that the country a sufficient amount of all necessary diagnostic and consumables for vaccination of the population, and has also created a safety stock, Turkmenistan’s Watan Habarlary news program reported on Friday.
Two polymerase chain reaction (PCR) machines were also delivered to the country. These devices will be installed in the laboratory of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service in the city of Turkmenbashi, according to the report.
In his report, the Minister noted that before leaving for Avaza NTZ, citizens who have received tourism vouchers for recreation will receive a COVID-19 vaccination in clinics in the velayats and the capital.
Personnel recruited to the Avaza’s service sector have been vaccinated. In preparation for the summer holiday season, employees of Children's Recreation Centers will soon get vaccines.
