The UK-based Petro Gas LLP will provide services for the design and construction of the third oil berth at the Kenar Oil Storage and Loading Enterprise of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR), Turkmenistan’s flagship oil refinery.
Vice-Premier of Turkmenistan Shahym Abdrahmanov in a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday presented to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov a draft of the relevant Resolution on construction of the oil berth, the country’s official media reports.
According to the document, the TCOR and the Petro Gas LLP will sign a contract for the design and construction of a third berth at the Kenar enterprise with the condition of full preparation and commissioning of the facility within 30 months.
During the meeting, the Head of State pointed out that priority should be given to increasing the volume of crude oil supplies to the TCOR, expanding the geography of sales markets for products manufactured by the oil refinery, ensuring their timely shipment to domestic and foreign consumers.
Signing the Resolution on building of the berth, Turkmen President instructed to ensure the fulfillment of environmental requirements during the construction of the facility.
The TCOR is the largest enterprise in Turkmenistan. In terms of its scale, it is comparable to the leading oil refining concerns. The TCOR includes two plants, numerous oil depots and filling stations.
