The member businesses of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) are presently building more than 175 new high-tech greenhouses throughout the country. The total area of the facilities under construction is 1,675 hectares, the Union reported on its website on Saturday.
Some of the objects have already entered the final stage of construction. Greenhouses with a total area of 100 hectares are expected to be commissioned by the new greenhouse growing season in November-December of this year, according to the report.
The entrepreneurs expect that by the end of the year, modern greenhouse complexes in Turkmenistan will operate on a total of 600 hectares of land.
UIET member businesses presently operate more than 100 greenhouses with a total area of 450 hectares in the country.
