In January-June 2021, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Turkey exceeded $657.86 million, a $220.4 million year-on-year increase compared to the same period last year, the Baku-based Trend news agency reported on Sunday, citing the Ministry of Trade of Turkey.
In June alone, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by over $81.54 million compared to June last year, amounting to $155 million.
In the first half of 2021, exports from Turkey to Turkmenistan neared $446.13 million (in June - $109.77 million).
During the period, Turkmen exports to Turkey neared $211.73 million (in June - $45.22 million).
At the end of July this year, the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), in cooperation with the Turkish Embassy in Ashgabat and the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEİK), held the webinar titled “Turkmenistan's Market and Trade Opportunities”. During the online event, Chairman of DEİK’s Turkey-Turkmenistan Business Council Halil Avci announced that DEİK will continue to work to strengthen and develop relations between Turkmenistan and Turkey.
