Turkmenistan, UAE Discuss Trade-Economic Ties
New Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Turkmenistan Ahmed Alhai Hamad Khamis Al-Khameli

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov in a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Turkmenistan Ahmed Alhai Hamad Khamis Al-Khameli on Tuesday in Ashgabat discussed topical aspects of cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

At the meeting, Rashid Meredov congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to this post and wished him success in his diplomatic activities, Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in its press release.

Emphasizing mutual interest in further developing the established productive dialogue, the parties also discussed issues of bilateral partnership in the fields of communications, agriculture and environment.

The diplomats also stressed the importance of further developing and strengthening ties between the two states. Turkmen side noted that the country plans to take part in the EXPO-2020, which will take place in Dubai.

Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the UAE were established in 1995.
