Preparations are presently underway for the opening of a new textile complex built in Kaka etrap of Turkmenistan’s Ahal velayat, the country’s Vice-Premier Chary Gylyjov reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday.
The Vice-Premier said the new modern textile complex, equipped with machinery from foreign manufacturers, is aimed at producing 3,650 tons of yarn, 12 million square meters of different types of fabrics and 1.2 million tons of finished products annually, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.
The commissioning of the enterprise will create 1,300 new jobs, and the its environmentally friendly high-quality products will not only meet the needs of the country's domestic market, but will also increase its export potential, Gylyjov stressed.
Following the report, the Head of State said special attention should be paid to the compliance of textiles produced in the country with international quality and environmental safety standards. Turkmen designers, studying the demands of the domestic market, focusing on the seasonal needs of the population, should develop and launch new clothing lines and other products, the Turkmen President emphasized and addressed the Vice-Premier with instructions on organizing the opening ceremony of the complex at a high level.
Turkish company Cotam Enterprises Ltd. started the construction of the new textile complex in Kaka etrap in 2018.
