Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with Turkmenistan in the January-July period of 2021 amounted to $351.9 million, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in its report published last Friday. Turkmenistan is listed among the top ten trading partners of Uzbekistan.
During the same period last year, the trade turnover between the neighboring countries was $298.4 million, according to the report.
In the January-July period, Uzbekistan imported $250.9 million worth of Turkmen products. At the same time, the country’s exports to Turkmenistan amounted to $100.9 million.
Over the first seven months, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover exceeded $21.56 billion, an increase of $1.98 billion or 10.1% compared to the same period in 2020.
The largest volume of Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover during the period was carried out with China – over $4 billion, with exports nearing $1.3 billion, and imports – exceeding $2.7 billion.
Other main partners of Uzbekistan by trade turnover during the period are Russia (over $3.73 billion), Kazakhstan (over $2.22 billion), Turkey (over $1.87 million), Korea (over $1 billion), Kyrgyzstan ($508.1 million), Germany ($410.9 million), Afghanistan ($406.4 million) and Ukraine ($334.6 million).
In 2020, trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan amounted to $527 million.
